Lazzaro Pietragnoli was the Mayor of the London Borough of Camden until May 2015.
Camden is one of the most colourful and diverse regions of the capital, with Camden Market being the 7th most visited tourist attraction in the whole of London, attracting 200,000 tourists every single week.
Born in Venice, Lazzaro defies many stereotypes about Italians: he doesn’t drink coffee, doesn’t like pasta and is not into football.
He has developed a professional career in media and communications and has been working as press officer, public relations advisor and journalist at European, national and local level.
Lazzaro has been involved in many volunteer and charitable activities and is an active member of his local community. He is a governor of Great Ormond Street Hospital School.
